Project Manager – Large-Scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

We are partnering with one of Germany’s pioneering BESS developers - an organisation that has spent nearly a decade operating in the energy storage space. The company has recently secured significant investment from a major European infrastructure fund, unlocking the next phase of their growth and an ambitious target of 1.5GW of installed BESS capacity by 2030.

With strong financial backing, proven technical expertise, and a healthy project pipeline, they are now looking to strengthen their team with a talented Project Manager based in Munich.

The Role: Project Manager – Large-Scale BESS

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale BESS projects across Germany. This is a key position within a fast-growing business, offering the chance to shape critical infrastructure and support the transition to a more flexible, renewable-focused energy system.

You will manage projects from early development through construction and commissioning - ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of major BESS projects, from planning and permitting to construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers, and external partners.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, risks, and quality standards.
• Ensure effective communication and alignment across engineering, procurement, construction, and commercial stakeholders.
• Support optimisation and standardisation of project delivery processes as the company continues to scale.
• Uphold strong health, safety, environmental, and quality practices throughout all phases.

Candidate Profile

• Proven track record delivering infrastructure, energy, or large-scale construction projects—BESS, renewables, or power generation experience is highly beneficial.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Fluent in German and English.
