The Role

As a Software Engineer at Kopa AI, you won’t just be writing code—you will act as a true Product Engineer, owning problems from concept to shipped feature. You’ll work directly with founders and product teams to architect the next generation of agentic workflows, experimenting with the latest LLM capabilities to turn ambiguous ideas into production-ready solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Own the build from end-to-end: Act as a product engineer—taking features from a rough idea through design, architecture, implementation, and deployment.
• Architect scalable AI agents: Build the infrastructure and logic that allow AI agents to autonomously handle complex e-commerce tasks (pricing, logistics, support).
• Push the boundaries of LLMs: Experiment with leading model providers, open-source models, and RAG pipelines to optimize for speed, cost, and accuracy.
• Collaborate on product direction: Work closely with the Product Manager and founders to refine requirements, challenge assumptions, and propose technical solutions to business problems.
• Iterate rapidly: Ship fast, gather user feedback, and refine the product. You will balance code quality with the need for speed in a startup environment.
• Ensure reliability at scale: Turn prototypes into robust, user-focused solutions that can handle real-world e-commerce volume without breaking.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of engineering experience, ideally building and shipping real-world products in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Strong engineering fundamentals: We use TypeScript and Python, but we value the ability to learn and adapt to the best tool for the job.
• A "Product Mindset": You care deeply about the user and the outcome, not just the code. You understand why you are building something, not just how.
• Bias toward action: You are comfortable operating with ambiguity, making technical decisions quickly, and moving fast.
• Genuine interest in AI: You are motivated to explore what is possible with Large Language Models and agentic frameworks.
• Excellent collaboration skills: You can communicate complex technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders clearly.

Bonus Points

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate), or AI orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Google ADK or similar).
• Experience integrating with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Woocommerce) or logistics APIs.
• Background in data engineering or machine learning.
• Previous experience as a founding engineer or early hire at a startup.
