We’re looking for a Machine Learning Engineer (Data Engineering focus) (all) to join our AI team to help advance the future of healthcare. You will be responsible for architecting and maintaining the high-quality data pipelines essential for training and running the speech recognition systems that power real-world applications used by clinicians every day.
This role can be performed in a hybrid setup from our offices in Luxembourg or Berlin, or remotely from anywhere in Germany or Luxembourg.
This Is What You’ll Own
- Data Strategy Ownership: Own the end-to-end data collection process, including quality control, sourcing, and annotation setup.
- Dataset Curation: Collect and curate custom datasets, including setting up the annotation pipeline, quality control, and performing alignment/segmentation procedures.
- Pipeline Architecture: Build and maintain scalable, robust data preprocessing workflows and ETL pipelines.
- Model Evaluation: Evaluate state-of-the-art deep learning models against production data quality metrics.
- Research & Experimentation: Design and conduct rigorous experiments to validate new models and data-driven methods.
- Vendor Management: Work closely with external vendors to coordinate and standardize data collection efforts.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product managers, other ML engineers, and developers to translate high-quality data and solutions into production.
Must Haves
- Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience: Typically 5-8+ years of experience in ML engineering or related fields, with a strong focus on data engineering/ML data pipelines.
- Programming & ETL: Strong programming skills in Python and experience with large-scale ETL frameworks (Spark, Kafka) and SQL.
- MLOps Monitoring: Experience with MLOps monitoring tools (MLflow, W&B).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and good knowledge of statistical principles.
- Data Governance: Strong grasp of data governance, quality control, and privacy best practices.
- Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of multilingual or domain-specific language modeling (medical/legal and other specialized fields).
- Scalability: Experience with distributed training systems.
- ML Infrastructure: Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in German/French/Italian is a plus.
- Full ownership of impactful ML data pipelines in a fast-growing AI environment.
- A collaborative team that values curiosity, learning, and pragmatic problem-solving.
