Who are we?

Created in 2009, Novelab offers experiences as well as interactive and immersive installations, mainly in the fields of industry, communication and culture. Halfway between a technology start-up and a content creator, Novelab strives to combine technology with quality stories to create immersive and engaging experiences. Novelab develops or produces original projects such as the mobile game Type: Rider or the VR Notes on Blindness & Spheres experiences. For these projects, we have created specific tools and technologies related to interactivity, audio or image.

Job Description

Join Novelab, a leading creative and tech studio crafting award-winning immersive experiences (VR/AR/MR), interactive installations, and digital storytelling for global brands and cultural institutions.

As a 3D Artist, you’ll create high-quality assets and environments for real-time applications, interactive content, and virtual worlds. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, developers, and creative leads to bring innovative experiences to life.

✍️ What You’ll Need


  • Degree in 3D Art, Game Design, Animation, or Visual Arts, or equivalent experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience as a 3D Artist in the XR, game, or digital production industry.
  • Strong proficiency with Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max, and texturing tools such as Substance Painter / Designer.
  • Understanding of Unity or Unreal Engine real-time workflows.
  • Ability to create optimized, stylized, or realistic assets for interactive use.
  • Good sense of composition, lighting, and color.
  • Collaborative mindset and clear communication with technical and creative teams.
  • (Plus) Experience with XR projects, shaders, VFX, or procedural tools (Houdini).


👇 What You’ll Do

🎨 3D Creation & Production


  • Model, texture, and integrate props, characters, and environments for immersive experiences and real-time applications.
  • Adapt assets for performance optimization (polycount, materials, draw calls, LODs).
  • Collaborate with Technical Artists and Developers to ensure smooth integration in Unity or Unreal.
  • Participate in look development, lighting, and scene setup.


🧩 Collaboration & Iteration


  • Work closely with Designers and Directors to translate creative concepts into compelling visuals.
  • Contribute to moodboards, style guides, and visual references.
  • Participate in internal reviews and propose creative or technical improvements.
  • Support the pre-production phase with mockups and prototypes.


⚙️ Quality & Process


  • Ensure asset consistency and maintain production standards across projects.
  • Help build and maintain 3D libraries and internal asset pipelines.
  • Stay up to date with new workflows, tools, and XR art production techniques.
