Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for a Project Developer in Bucharest, Romania to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Project Developer you will be responsible for progressing the development and structuring of utility-scale renewable energy projects (including solar PV, BESS, and onshore wind) and acquisitions from early opportunity identification through the project development cycle and up to financial close. Your hands-on experience, strong project management skills, and detail-oriented approach will be key to successfully mature projects up to start of construction.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and lead internal and external project development activities including securing land rights, obtaining required local permits and approvals, and securing interconnection rights from utilities.
- Engage with local stakeholders, including authorities, advisors, partners, and landowners, with the expectation of necessary local travel in Bucharest and to project sites throughout Romania.
- Identify, screen and evaluate new project opportunities, support negotiations for project acquisition and manage acquisition/transaction processes.
- Undertake market reviews, analyzing regulatory issues and policy supports for utility-scale renewable energy projects and contribute to development strategies for countries or regions.
- Participate in bidding processes to submit bid packages in response to Request for Proposals (RFPs) from governmental bodies, utilities and private off-takers.
- Support the negotiations with prospective development partners and assume responsibility for external relationships.
- Support the process to secure equity and debt finance for projects until financial close.
Education: Commercial, technical or legal university-level degree.
Experience:
- Renewable energy experience (or similar) ideally from Project Development, Engineering companies or consulting firms, Renewable Independent Power Producers, other infrastructure companies.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with different stakeholders.
- Experience with permitting of renewable energy projects in Romania.
- Language: fluent in both written and spoken Romanian and English.

- Basic understanding of power markets and in particular renewable energy.
- Working knowledge and understanding of power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, and EPC contract terms and conditions is preferable, but not required .
- Basic knowledge of business fundamentals and financial analysis.
- Expert level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including presentation software and Excel .
- Willingness to travel as required.
