Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce data privacy and security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
- Monitor and assess compliance with data protection laws and regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential threats to data security.
- Oversee incident response plans and coordinate investigations into data breaches and security incidents.
- Advise and train staff on best practices for data handling, privacy, and security awareness.
- Collaborate with IT, legal, and compliance teams to ensure integrated data protection strategies.
- Manage data subject access requests and respond to inquiries regarding privacy practices.
- Keep abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulations related to data privacy and security.
- Prepare regular reports on privacy and security metrics for senior management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Law, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CIPP, or similar are preferred.
- Proven experience in data privacy, information security, or regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of global privacy laws and information security standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and training abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with data loss prevention technologies and encryption solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud data privacy and security best practices.
- Project management experience in privacy or security initiatives.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
