Within the context of our rapid growth, SMILE UKRAINE is looking for a talented Network Engineer with strong expertise in enterprise networking infrastructure and security solutions.

Job Description

This position requires investigation and resolution of network infrastructure issues, implementation of secure connectivity solutions, and ongoing management of our enterprise network environment including firewalls, VPNs, wireless systems, and network services.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve network infrastructure problems through established processes and procedures (Helpdesk)
• Configure, deploy, and maintain network hardware and security appliances (FortiGate firewalls, Ubiquiti equipment)
• Design and implement secure VPN solutions using WireGuard, IPSec, and other protocols
• Manage routing, switching, VLAN configuration, and network segmentation
• Deploy and maintain enterprise wireless infrastructure including RADIUS authentication
• Work together with the team and external parties in troubleshooting/resolving network outages and other incidents to ensure performance and stability
• Maintain technical network documentation and topology diagrams
• Proactively deal with monitoring alerts and network performance metrics

Requirements

• Working experience as a Network Engineer / Network Administrator
• Strong hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls (configuration, policies, VPN, routing)
• Strong understanding of VPN technologies (WireGuard, IPSec, SSL VPN)
• Solid knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, static routing) and switching concepts
• Experience with VLAN design, implementation, and troubleshooting
• Strong experience with Ubiquiti networking equipment (UniFi, EdgeRouter)
• Good knowledge of enterprise wireless deployment and management (WiFi standards, coverage planning)
• Good knowledge of RADIUS authentication and network access control (NAC)
• Experience with Kubernetes networking (CNI, Services, Ingress, Network Policies)
• Good knowledge of network security principles and encryption (SSL/TLS, SSH, IPSec)
• Understanding of network monitoring solutions (SNMP, NetFlow, or similar)
• Good knowledge of authentication protocols (802.1X, EAP, LDAP integration)
• Understanding of security standards (ISO/IEC 27001)
• Good communication skills
• Good written and spoken English
