The Level 1 Network Engineer is responsible for advanced troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure and security devices. This role ensures high availability, performance, and security of enterprise networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain:
- Firewalls: Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper
- VPN and Secure Access: Prisma, Z-Scaler
- Switching & Routing: Cisco, HP Aruba
- Perform advanced diagnostics and resolve connectivity issues.
- Implement network security policies and firewall rules.
- Collaborate with security teams for threat mitigation and compliance.
- Document configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Participate in major incident calls and provide technical expertise.
- Strong understanding of firewall technologies and security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Palo Alto Networks (including Panorama)
- Cisco routers and switches
- Prisma Access and Z-Scaler
- HP Aruba networking solutions
- Fortinet and Juniper firewalls
- Knowledge of VPN technologies, SSL/TLS, and secure remote access.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and ITSM tools.
