Job Title: Back-end developer

Location: Central London/Hybrid

Terms: Permanent Full-Time

Salary: Upto £70,000 per annum

Are you a .NET developer looking for more ownership in your role?

Are you an engineer with the ability to design complex modern applications?

Are you interested in building new products within a small team for a business that generates £100 million + in revenue?

The Company

One of the UK’s largest ticket providers is seeking a Senior back end developer to complete the move to an internal engineering function.

Over the last 20 years, they have acquired several entertainment-related businesses including smaller ticketing platforms, mobile apps, venues and production.

To date, the various platforms have been supported by a range of external dev houses and agencies and they are now looking to build an internal function to bring all their platforms under one roof.

The Role

You’ll work alongside a Technical Lead and Front-end engineer as the sole Back-end engineer to help drive the development of their portfolio of eCommerce ticketing platforms.

As the Senior Back end developer, the role will contribute to multiple eCommerce products but will primarily focus on owning and driving the development of their core B2C and B2B eCommerce platform.

You will work closely with Product and other Engineering functions to build best-in-class eCommerce experiences and contribute as they transition the business into a digital and consumer-first organisation with data-driven and user-centric strategies at its core.

You’ll contribute significantly to the design and development of robust cloud-based applications primarily using C#/.NET.

You will help to guide the technical direction of projects, making strategic decisions on technology stacks, supporting coding standards, and software design - playing a pivotal role in the product delivery team, actively contributing to design, scoping, prioritisation, and the iterative delivery of features.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration practices.

You can expect to collaborate and support the commercial and operational teams in driving the next generation of software solutions for external and internal customers.

Experience needed

First and foremost you will have experience working as a back end focused .NET developer owning feature delivery for complex systems, ideally within eCommerce, although not essential.

You’ll need expertise in .NET and SQL.

You will come with a strong understanding of software architecture, cloud computing with Azure, and modern software development practices (Agile, DevOps).

Furthermore, you’ll be experienced in configuring, managing and deploying to cloud and on-premises infrastructure using infrastructure as code.

Experience in modernising technology stacks, including migration to cloud-native technologies will be important.

You’ll also need experience in developing server-side APIs and integrating into third-party APIs; exposure to CMS (headless is desirable but not a necessity)

What they offer

This is a career-changing role with the opportunity to design and build products with revenues north of £100 million.

The role will suit someone who wants influence across the wider business and management.

This role offers an opportunity to step into a Lead role, should the team continue to grow.
