Join our small and high performing Technology team to make an impact in the dynamic world of commodities trading. You’ll be part of Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets division, developing software solutions in close partnership with our APAC Power, Gas, and Carbon business.

What role will you play?
You will write code to deliver cutting-edge solutions that unlock revenue-generating opportunities. Co-located with the trading desk, you will collaborate closely with traders and managers to design, build, deploy, and support systems that drive business success. You will own the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, from gathering requirements and development to testing and production deployment, directly influencing trading operations, risk management, and analytics in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

What You Offer
- Strong back-end programming skills with a deep understanding of software engineering and computer science best practices for writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- 3+ years of professional experience building software products in close collaboration with end users
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in fast-paced, business-facing environments
- Ownership experience across the development process, with strong interest in the full software delivery lifecycle: requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and production support
- Back-end development experience with Python. Strong Java or C++ Engineers open to learning new languages will also be considered
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with eagerness to work directly with traders and business managers
- An interest or understanding of finance and commodities markets, with a keen interest in applying technology to solve business challenges
