Our client is building the world’s first industrial-grade AI operating system for global materials trade, and they’re looking for a Backend Engineer to help shape the next generation of intelligent workflows, microservices, and AI-driven automation.

🎯 What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services that integrate advanced AI/ML capabilities.
- Build clean, scalable, and high-performance systems powering AI-driven workflows.
- Develop and optimise APIs that connect front-end experiences with AI logic.
- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers to bridge user-facing and backend intelligence.
- Improve distributed systems, data pipelines, and event-driven architectures.
- Work hands-on with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) to create intelligent automations.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and knowledge-sharing.
- Stay ahead of emerging AI trends and backend best practices.
🧩 Who You Are
- 3–5 years of experience as a backend or full-stack engineer.
- Solid Java skills (Spring Boot) plus familiarity with Python for AI or data workflows.
- Strong understanding of relational databases (Postgres or BigQuery).
- Comfortable with AWS and modern CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
- Familiar with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, microservices.
- Bonus: experience building AI-enabled products (OpenAI API, fine-tuning, prompt engineering).
- Strong communicator who thrives in cross-functional collaboration.
