Network Support Engineer (Cisco Catalyst LAN & WLAN)

We are supporting a large-scale network transformation program and are looking for an experienced Network Support Engineer. Professionals with a background in Network Engineering or Datacenter Engineering (with strong Cisco experience) are highly encouraged to apply.

Project Overview:

You will be part of a strategic network modernization program involving:

• Migration from legacy WAN to a centrally managed SD-WAN platform
• Transformation & management of existing Cisco LAN and WLAN infrastructures
• Deployment of a cloud-based Unified Communications (UC) PaaS solution

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implementation, and operational management of Cisco-based network architectures
• Review and analysis of existing (legacy) network configurations
• Creation and documentation of a modern Layer 2 design, including IP addressing
• Migration of branch offices to the new network environment
• Configuration and administration of Layer 2 & Layer 3 protocols
• Implementation and maintenance of TACACS+ authentication systems
• Support and troubleshooting of WLAN networks
• Administration of Cisco wireless solutions (IOS-XE controller-based, APs)
• Close coordination with Security, WAN, and cross-functional IT teams
• High-quality documentation of configurations, designs, and processes

Candidate Profile:

We welcome candidates from Network Engineering and Datacenter Engineering backgrounds who bring strong Cisco knowledge.

• Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst (ideally 9000 series) & Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center)
• Strong understanding of L2/L3 networking: STP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP
• Experience with TACACS+, RADIUS, ideally Cisco ISE
• Solid knowledge of WLAN architecture & wireless security
• Experience in network migrations is essential
• Familiarity with network monitoring & analysis tools
• Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Wireless are a plus
• Experience with network security concepts is an advantage
• Knowledge of ITIL / change management
• Fluency in German & English (C1/C2) is required
