About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Graphics Researcher & Developer to join our Terminal Cloud Technology Lab Game Engine Team.
This is an exciting, hands-on opportunity for an expert in Real-Time Rendering to research and co-develop a next-generation graphics engine. The primary focus will be on improving the performance of mobile games and optimizing mobile GPU rendering algorithms for our proprietary operating system.
You will take technical ownership of the core rendering architecture, from designing advanced material systems and programmable pipelines to performing crucial runtime performance optimization. You will collaborate with an international, fast-paced team of expert researchers and engineers, solving deeply technical problems in direct alignment with product teams, partners, and customers globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop advanced real-time rendering pipelines, including material systems, programmable pipelines, and Shader optimization.
- Actively monitor key developments and trends in mobile computer graphics research (e.g., SIGGRAPH, Eurographics, i3D) and propose novel, state-of-the-art solutions to core game engine graphics challenges.
- Stay updated with emerging rendering technologies from commercial engines (e.g., ray tracing, Nanite) and devise technical implementation plans to successfully integrate these innovations into production.
- Maintain communication with academia and industry partners, focusing on identifying potential collaboration benefits for product goals.
- Collaborate effectively with internal rendering teams to ensure technical innovation aligns perfectly with production timelines and targets.
Essential Requirements
- Proficiency in C/C++ with a proven ability to architect and maintain large-scale systems.
- Hands-on experience with at least one modern graphics API (Metal/Direct3D 12/Vulkan).
- Strong Shader programming skills (HLSL/GLSL/Metal).
- Solid understanding of modern rendering techniques (e.g., ray tracing, global illumination, or GPU-driven rendering) and 3D math (linear algebra).
- Hands-on experience with commercial game engines used for mobile games (e.g., Unity, Unreal 4/5, Godot) and relevant debugging tools (RenderDoc, Pix, NVIDIA NSight, or similar).
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, comfortable working within an international setting.
Desirable Skills (A Strong Plus)
- Prior involvement in game engine development (Unity, Lumberyard, Unreal 4/5, or in-house engines).
- Experience with data-oriented design and ECS.
- Ability to translate complex research paper ideas into working, efficient code.
- Direct experience with Metal and/or DX12.
- Prior experience with graphics development specifically on Android or iOS platforms.
