Excel Power User Wanted! Junior Data Operations Analyst to join our Data department - Rate Management division
Location: Bucharest, Romania

As a Junior Data Operations Analyst, you’ll be handling massive amounts of unstructured and complex price data provided by some of the world’s largest companies. As data standards are unheard of in our industry, you will work closely with customers in order to ensure the proper quality and structure required for rate benchmarking. You will assist with data queries throughout the procurement lifecycle journey of our customers, and you will be able to contribute to the development of new tools and processes that improve data quality and optimize efficiency. What you will be doing
- Work hands-on in Microsoft Excel to review, structure, validate, standardize and deliver complex ocean freight pricing data.
- Ensure timely, consistent and accurate data uploads into our platform to support meaningful benchmarking and insights.
- Identify anomalies and flag recurring issues and inconsistencies to support Data Quality and trustworthy benchmarking.
- Gain a deep understanding of global ocean freight dynamics and how pricing works in both short- and long-term markets.
- Collaborate closely with Customer Success and Sales teams to respond to customer requests across RFQs, contract updates, and rate analysis.
- Work with Data Science, Tech, Product and other stakeholders to come up with new data management solutions and actionable insights that improve the customer’s experience.
Your profile and experience
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, including formulas, logic flows, lookups, and pivot tables.
- Comfortable working with unstructured datasets and identifying patterns or inconsistencies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal — you enjoy solving problems together with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Fluent in English, oral and written.
- Naturally detail-oriented, dependable, and proactive.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Customer-centric mindset.
- A team player who takes ownership, follows through, and delivers on time.
Bonus points for
- Experience from working with complex unstructured datasets in Excel.
- Experience from analyzing or working with price data.
- Previous experience in customer-facing roles.
- Proficiency in visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QuickSight.
- Experience with SQL or Python.
