In this project, you will contribute to the advancement of AI technology’s speech recognition by collecting audio recordings that are inclusive of various accents, genders, and ages.

You’ll use your smartphone to record in a quiet environment 20 wake words and 1 unique sentence, all in different cadences. (Slow, Fast, Loud and Soft).
Requirements
- We are seeking contributors who speak Arabic - English accent, and all tasks will be conducted in English language
- Reside in United Arab Emirates
- Should have smartphone (iOS or Android) with a microphone
- A quiet place free from background noise
- Stable internet connection for uploading recordings
- Willingness to follow all recording instructions carefully
- Earn $8.75 upon completing the 21 recordings
- To qualify for payment, at least 95% of your recordings must pass the quality review
- Recordings that do not meet the 95% quality requirement are not eligible for payment

- Complete the demographic survey
- Verify your identity
- Onboard & start recording
- When applying to the project, make sure to select English as your primary language
- You will be asked to have your child participate in the project
- This project works on a first-come, first-served basis, so applying early gives you the best chance to secure a spot
- We want to keep participation balanced, so demographic quotas apply. If your group is already full, a task may not be assigned — but don’t worry, you’ll be invited to join other available Appen project opportunities
