UI/UX Designer – 2
Location Address: Hybrid - Scarborough – 3 times/week (team goes in Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – if a day needs to be changed for appointments etc. they can be flexible)
Contract Duration: ASAP to Oct 25, 2026 approx. 9.5 months with Possibility of extension & conversion to FTE
Project: The contractor will support multiple applications undergoing screen design and UX flow modernization. Requirements will be provided, and the contractor will develop user flows and screen designs.
Typical Day in Role:
• Collaborate with business analysts, sponsors, project leads, and IT teams to understand and implement business requirements.
• Translate technical requirements into business requirements and actionable design specifications.
• Design user interface specifications using client research, design standards, and bank best practices, considering strategic objectives, user needs, and system constraints.
• Participate in design review sessions, gaining consensus and approvals on designs and documentation.
• Work with project managers to ensure usability deliverables align with timelines, budgets, and scope.
• Contribute to methodology/process improvements, documentation, workflows, ROI metrics, and design standards.
• Act as a UI/UX advocate, promoting user-centered design principles.
• Prototype and showcase end-to-end user experiences.
• Ensure compliance with industry and accessibility standards (WCAG).

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 2-4 years experience as a UI/UX designer
2) 2+ years’ experience using Figma
3) Demonstrated experience in prototyping
4) Experience with common design systems (e.g., Redix, Storybook, MaterialUI, or similar UI libraries).
5) Experience translating technical requirements and designs to business users

Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) Basic HTML / CSS skills
2) Experience with accessibility / WCAG
3) Experience with application design for banks/FIs
Soft Skills Required:

• Attention to detail
Best VS. Average Candidate:
• Hands-on experience with design systems.
• Recent experience with Figma and prototyping.
• Strong communicator who can articulate design decisions effectively.
• Strong UI design focus, though capable in both UI and UX.
