Title: Senior Software Developer - Games
Location: Remote
Department: Infinite Play (Game Studio inside Anime Universe)
Reports To: Studio Head
Commitment: Up to 20 hours/week
Compensation: Equity only (no cash until revenue milestones)
Jurisdiction: USA & Canada preferred
This is an equity-only founding role. As the first software developer in our games studio, you will help establish the technical foundation of our projects. You will work directly with the Studio Head and contribute to early prototypes, gameplay systems, and tools. Your work will influence how the studio builds and ships games.
We are looking for someone with practical experience in Unity or JavaScript-based game frameworks such as BabylonJS or Three.js.
Responsibilities
- Build early prototypes and gameplay features for new titles (Unity or JavaScript-based engines).
- Develop and maintain core game systems, tools, and pipelines.
- Collaborate with designers, artists, and production to define requirements and scope.
- Provide technical input on project planning, feasibility, and timelines.
- Help establish coding standards, workflows, and best practices for the studio.
- Contribute to documentation, build processes, testing, and version control.
- Support the long-term technical roadmap as the studio grows.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Unity (C#) or JavaScript/WebGL game frameworks (BabylonJS, Three.js, or similar).
- Experience building interactive prototypes, gameplay systems, or small games.
- Comfortable working in an early-stage, remote, asynchronous environment.
- Ability to work independently and make practical engineering decisions.
- Familiarity with Git or similar version control tools.
- Clear communication skills and willingness to collaborate with a small, multidisciplinary team.
Nice to Have

- Experience with shaders, physics, animation systems, or UI frameworks.
- Exposure to multiplayer/networked game patterns.
- Experience with performance optimization for WebGL or mobile.
- Comfort working in environments with evolving specs and fast iteration cycles.
