Overview
AWS EKS Consultant to support an EKS takeout/migration initiative. The role requires strong hands-on experience with Amazon EKS and mandatory expertise in Karpenter for autoscaling and node management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize EKS clusters for migration/takeout.
- Configure and manage Karpenter for cluster autoscaling.
- Migrate workloads into EKS following AWS best practices.
- Improve cluster security, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Troubleshoot Kubernetes and AWS-related issues.
- Provide documentation and knowledge transfer.
- 5+ years in Cloud/DevOps; 3+ years with production EKS.
- Strong, hands-on Karpenter experience (mandatory).
- Kubernetes expertise (networking, security, Helm, troubleshooting).
- AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, ALB/NLB, CloudWatch).
- IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Scripting (Bash/Python).
- GitOps tools (ArgoCD/Flux).
- AWS certifications.
- Experience with EKS Blueprints or large-scale migrations.
