Position: Java Software Engineer

Position type: Contract (Onsite)

Location: Zurich, Switzerland

Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices for enterprise-level systems.
• Work with databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL/Oracle) to design, query, and optimize data access.
• Implement clean, efficient, and secure code following best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and deliver solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and documentation.

Skills Required

• Strong proficiency in Java 8+, Spring & Spring Boot.
• Experience with Microservices, REST APIs, and ORM frameworks (Hibernate/JPA).
• Good understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP preferred).
• Knowledge of messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ (optional but plus).
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-native architecture.
• Exposure to front-end technologies (Angular/React) is a bonus.
• Understanding of Agile methodology.
