About The Role

Sydney Local Health District is one of the fastest growing Local Health Districts in New South Wales. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring. You will be required to work across various faciltiies within SLHD.

The Junior Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for enhancing the security posture and maturity of SLHD's complex ICT environment, specifically focusing on day-to-day incident tickets and achieving compliance with ASCS Essential Eight, NSW Cyber Security Policy, SLHD and NSW Health Cyber Security Policies and Standards. This role is responsible for identifying, monitoring, and mitigating vulnerabilities, as well as responding to and managing security incidents to protect sensitive healthcare data and ensure the resilience of IT infrastructure. There may be a requirement to work from time to time at other Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) facilities.

Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Cybersecurity or related discipline, and/or experience within the field of Computer Science, Information Security or cybersecurity, with a focus on vulnerability management, incident response, threat analysis and security operations in complex environments, with knowledge in vulnerability scanning and assessment tools (e.g., Tenable.IO, Nessus, Qualys) within the healthcare systems.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security frameworks and best practices (e.g., NIST. ISO27001, NSW Cyber Security Policy and Essential 8).
  • Experience with Windows, Mac, and Linux systems, including vulnerability scanning and analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of network and application security concepts, tools, detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS) firewalls, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions and an understanding of cloud security principles and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
