The Senior Project Officer provides advice and support to the Principal Project Officer, Southern, the Service Delivery Leadership Team, and Executive within Sport and Recreation on complex issues, to contribute to the development of policy and programs related to sport and recreation issues and projects
In This Role You Will
- Work collaboratively with the Principal Project Officer, Southern, to deliver support, advice and guidance to Service Delivery Directors.
- Support and coordinate the design, development, implementation and evaluation of Service Delivery projects and initiatives, using a person-centred approach.
- Apply project management methodologies to deliver high quality timely project outcomes, managing risks and emerging issues, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring appropriate documentation.
- Support and sustain effective, collaborative working relationships with team members and diverse internal and external stakeholders to leverage resources and technical expertise.
- Support objective, systematic research and analysis and interpretation of complex data to provide authoritative, evidence based and timely strategic advice to senior managers.
- Apply initiative and exercise significant levels of independent judgement in solving urgent and emerging issues with limited direction to ensure products and services meet the needs of the community at a service area level and in accordance with the Department's and Queensland Government priorities.
- Prepare high quality documentation, reports, correspondence, briefing notes, plans, submissions, presentations and other documentation as required.
- Oversee and contribute to the preparation of complex briefs, reports and submissions relevant to the coordination and implementation of Sport and
- Formulate and draft proposals, project plans, recommendations, submissions and briefing papers of a complex nature.
- Actively contribute to an innovative team that values continuous improvement and a collaborative culture focused on achievement of objectives within approved timeframes and budgets.
