Senior Network Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer with deep expertise in routing & switching, network testing, Juniper technologies and automation, to support critical initiatives within the CABN cluster of the Network Services tribe at our client in La Hulpe.

This role focuses on ensuring the evolution, stability and performance of key network platforms, contributing to major projects such as MV-SIPN Evolution, AU-NPP Cloud CR, and the SBN Encryptors technology upgrade. The engineer will play a central role in validating, optimizing and automating network solutions across hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

Core Network Engineering & Operations

• Design, operate and enhance complex network infrastructures, with a strong focus on routing and switching.
• Manage and troubleshoot advanced networking components, ensuring stability and optimal performance across critical services.
• Apply expert knowledge of IP routing tables, VLANs, DNS, VPNs and related foundational network operations.
• Support the evolution of network architectures as part of CABN transformation projects.

Network Testing & Validation

• Perform advanced validation of network solutions using industry-standard network testing tools.
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks for continuous network verification.
• Ensure reliability, security and robustness of network deployments through structured testing methodologies.
• Produce detailed technical reports highlighting performance metrics, defects, and improvement opportunities.

Juniper & Cloud Network Engineering

• Configure and maintain Juniper devices and Junos-based environments.
• Contribute to network modernization initiatives involving public cloud integrations (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Support SD-WAN implementations and ensure consistent performance across hybrid network topologies.

Agile Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work within an Agile framework, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across the Network Services tribe.
• Drive improvements in automation, testing efficiency and network reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex issues independently and provide clear technical guidance to stakeholders.

Required Profile

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Network Routing & Switching.
• Proven experience across:
• Network Testing Tools
• Network Test Automation
• Juniper Technologies
• Testing Methodology
• SD-WAN
• Public Cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Technical Skills

• Expert-level knowledge of routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs).
• Hands-on experience with Juniper (Junos OS) in production environments.
• Strong experience with network validation and automated test frameworks.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking models (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Familiarity with SD-WAN architectures and operational models.
• Strong troubleshooting, packet analysis and diagnostic capabilities.
