Main goal
The Corporate Lawyer provides UEFA and its subsidiaries with legal advice on various data protection matters and corporate legal domains (corporate transactions, contracts, HR and employment matters, etc.). The role also involves providing legal support in relation to all event-related corporate legal matters (drafting freelancers’ contracts, assisting with bids, visas and immigration matters, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, negotiating and reviewing UEFA’s corporate contracts with service providers and stakeholders
- Providing legal support across all business lines as a member of the UEFA data privacy team, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and supporting their implementation (including drafting privacy policies and reviewing and validating data protection assessments)
- Drafting, negotiating and reviewing data processing and data transfer agreements
- Ensuring that UEFA’s regulations, agreements and other documents comply with Swiss law
- Providing UEFA and its subsidiaries with legal support, research and opinions on various corporate and contractual matters
- Providing legal support for corporate matters relating to the organisation of UEFA competitions and events (including employment and immigration matters and visas)
- Providing UEFA management, UEFA member associations and European football clubs with legal support in relation to Swiss corporate law and legal governance issues
Requirements
Experience:
- From two to four years as a corporate or commercial lawyer within a law firm or an international organisation
- From two to four years of post-qualification experience with data protection and contractual matters
- Swiss university degree in law (lic. iur./Master of Law), ideally having passed the Swiss Bar exam
- CIPP/E certification (IAPP) or equivalent
- English and French / Proficient
- Knowledge of another language would be an asset
- Ability to provide clear, concise and practical advice after reviewing a range of documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Project management skills
- Strong and consistent attention to detail
- Team spirit, client-orientation and professionalism
- MS Office at an advanced level
