About the Role
AC Immune's Data Science, Engineering, and AI team is seeking a motivated student to apply data analysis, and statistical techniques to various projects.
You will gain hands-on experience in data pre-processing, data visualization, model development, and interpretation of results, contributing directly to our efforts in facilitating drug discovery and gaining new insights through data exploitation.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the senior data scientist and the senior data engineer to maintain the electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) platform and assist scientists in data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing of large datasets from various sources.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends and insights that drive key decision-making.
- Create interactive dashboards and data visualization interfaces to communicate data insights effectively for both research and TechOps teams.
- Participate in team meetings, presentations, and discussions to share insights and progress on assigned projects.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in software development and documentation with Git.
- Knowledge of Python 3.10+, including relevant data science libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly or Streamlit.
- Familiarity with statistical techniques (e.g., regression, classification, clustering).
- Basic understanding of SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail and good practices.
- Experience with software containerization (e.g. Docker) and cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus
- Knowledge in the areas of biomedical, biotech, or chemistry is a strong plus.
- Comfortable with basic presentation and report writing
- Good spoken and written English
