Job Description (Detailed Roles & Responsibilities)
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst (Financial Crime/AML) with 8+ years of overall experience, including strong functional expertise in financial crime compliance, AML, KYC, sanctions screening, fraud management, and related domains. The ideal candidate will work closely with business, compliance, technology, and operations teams to translate regulatory and functional requirements into clear system specifications.
Roles and Responsibilities
Business & Functional Analysis
- Gather, analyse, and document business requirements related to Financial Crime, AML, KYC, Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, and Fraud systems.
- Work with stakeholders from Compliance, Risk, and Operations to understand regulatory expectations and business objectives.
- Conduct gap analysis between current systems/processes and target-state financial crime solutions.
- Define functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
Mandatory Skills
- 8+ years of total experience, with minimum 4–5 years working as a Functional Business Analyst in the Financial Crime/AML domain.
- Strong understanding of AML, KYC, Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, Fraud Detection, or related FCC processes.
- Experience in creating BRD, FRD, user stories, process maps, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience participating in UAT, SIT, requirement grooming, and solution validation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work on large datasets.
Desired Skills
- Experience with financial crime tools such as Actimize, Fenergo, Mantas, SAS AML, NICE Actimize, Detica, Quantexa, etc.
- Exposure to global banking regulatory frameworks (FATF, Basel, OFAC, EU AMLD, RBI KYC/AML guidelines).
- Basic understanding of SQL for data validation and analysis.
- Experience working in Agile methodology and tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Knowledge of model tuning, rule optimisation, or behavioural analytics in AML.
