Dubai Holding is looking to hire a Vice President - Sustainability reporting to the Group Chief Impact Officer. The role holder will be responsible for leading the development of Dubai Holding’s sustainability strategy and ensuring its integration across the organisation and its verticals. The role holder will collaborate with senior executives, business leaders, and sustainability teams within the portfolio companies to develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with the organisation’s sustainability goals. The role holder will also engage with external stakeholders, including partners, government bodies, NGOs, and industry peers, to enhance the company’s sustainability reputation and contribute to broader sustainability initiatives. Furthermore, the role holder will lead the consolidation of philanthropic activities across the group to deliver a strategic and impactful philanthropic strategy and initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:
Strategy Development and Implementation:
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive sustainability strategy and roadmap aligned with the organisation’s commitments and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with business leaders and sustainability teams across the verticals to integrate sustainability principles into their respective strategies and operations.
- Drive the identification and prioritisation of key sustainability focus areas, such as environmental management and circularity, responsible supply chain, diversity and inclusion, and social impact.
- Set group-level sustainability policies and procedures (e.g., sustainability commitments, supplier code of conduct, etc.).
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Provide group leadership on sustainability and engage the C-suite to drive progress and resolve challenges, including leading the quarterly CEO Sustainability Forum.
- Establish and act as secretary for the first external Sustainability Advisory Council to bring external insights and challenge from sustainability experts, helping Dubai Holding transition to a sustainable business model.
- Stay informed about emerging sustainability trends, innovative practices, and industry advancements, and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on potential implications and opportunities.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including industry associations, NGOs, and peers, to build partnerships and promote sustainable business practices.
- Represent the company, as required, in sustainability-focused forums, conferences, and industry events to share best practices and learn from peers.
Governance and Risk Management:
- Oversee the integration of ESG into business decision-making processes and corporate governance structures (such as the Executive Management Committee).
- Build organisational capacity to identify and manage ESG risks as part of the overarching Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies and mitigation plans to address sustainability-related risks.
ESG Performance Monitoring, Reporting and Compliance:
- Develop and enhance sustainability reporting frameworks and metrics to effectively measure and communicate the company’s ESG performance to stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures related to sustainability, as well as compliance with external regulations where applicable.
Philanthropy:
- Refine the group-wide philanthropy strategy of Dubai Holding that is focused, impactful, and scalable, and oversee its implementation.
- Establish an appropriate governance structure to manage group-wide philanthropic programmes, including a leadership committee responsible for budget allocation.
ESG Value Creation
- Explore introducing ICP internally
- Conduct TNFD gap analysis
- Explore carbon offsite strategies
- Explore introduction of Climate Linked Loans for strategic projects
People Management
- Provide leadership within the function by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, and providing formal and informal feedback and appraisals, in order to maximise individual and departmental performance in pursuit of the department’s objectives.
- Foster a culture of sustainability throughout the organisation by raising awareness, educating employees through training programmes, and encouraging employee engagement in sustainability initiatives.
Who we are looking for:
- 15+ years of proven experience in Sustainability, Climate Finance, CSR, or related roles, at both strategic and operational levels
- Working knowledge of CDP, GRI, SBTi, SASB, the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB), and other widely recognised reporting standards and frameworks
- Knowledge of the UN SDGs and experience in deploying selected objectives across the group
Education / Professional Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree preferred
- GRI-certified sustainability professional
Technical Competencies:
- Ability to develop and implement comprehensive sustainability strategies aligned with business objectives and industry best practices
- Proficiency in integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into business decision-making processes and governance structures
- Knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks and metrics, including GRI, SASB, and SBTi
- Skill in identifying, assessing, and mitigating sustainability-related risks across operations and the supply chain
- Strong understanding of climate change mitigation and adaptation measures, including Scope 1–3 emissions
- Demonstrated project and programme management skills, sound judgment, and thought leadership
