Job Purpose:
The Product Manager – Commercial Banking will be responsible for developing, managing, and enhancing the bank’s suite of commercial banking products (including deposits, lending, trade finance, cash management, and digital solutions). The role requires strong market knowledge, product development expertise, and the ability to drive profitability, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance. The role will have accountable across the agile product life cycle and ultimate responsibility for delivery of products and services of Commercial banking customers
Principal Accountabilities:
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy & Development
- Design and implement the commercial banking product roadmap aligned with the bank’s strategic objectives.
- Own the product requirements and road map, prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring that if reflects user needs, nosiness priorities, and align with the overall bank strategy
- Identify gaps in the existing product portfolio and develop innovative solutions tailored to SMEs, mid-market, and corporate clients.
- Conduct competitor benchmarking and market research to ensure product relevance and differentiation.
2. Portfolio Management & Performance
- Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle – conceptualization, pricing, launch, monitoring, and review.
- Track product performance (P&L, balance sheet growth, fee income, cross-sell ratios) and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure commercial banking products support CASA growth, liability mobilization, and lending objectives.
3. Client & Market Engagement
- Work closely with Relationship Managers (RMs) and Sales teams to understand client needs and translate them into product offerings.
- Support client pitches, product demonstrations, and customized structuring for key clients.
- Drive awareness and adoption of digital channels and transaction banking solutions among commercial clients
4. Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, AML/KYC standards, and internal risk policies.
- Develop product approval notes and present them to management/ committees for sign-off.
- Establish governance frameworks for product pricing, limits, and risk segmentation.
5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with IT, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Finance teams for seamless product implementation.
- Collaborate with Marketing to design product campaigns and enhance brand visibility in the commercial banking segment.
- Train and support front-line teams to improve product knowledge and sales effectiveness.
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Information Technology, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 3-5 Years atleast in Corporate/ Commercial banking, or financial services, with Product Management, or transaction banking experience
