Minimalist.ae is a local brand founded in 2016 in Dubai that designs and manufactures elegant, high-quality watches, jewelry, handbags, perfumes, and leather goods designed to enhance personal style. With four stores now open in the UAE, we focus on simple yet sophisticated designs, with specifically our Arabic numeral watches being known for their timeless appeal. Minimalist believes in simplicity and uses only the finest materials to produce beautiful and durable items, combining elegant design with excellent quality.

The Role

As Product Designer, you will play a central role in the creation and development of our collections, while supporting our marketing and branding efforts while collaborating closely with the internal team to conceptualize, design collaterals and materials that align with Minimalist’s aesthetic and values.

Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize and design pieces that align with Minimalist’s brand identity, market trends, and seasonal direction.
• Create detailed sketches, models, and technical drawings for Minimalist collections.
• Develop mood boards, material references, style guides to communicate design intent clearly to the production team and ensure accurate prototyping and sampling of designs.
• Revise and finalize designs based on feedback, production feasibility, and cost considerations without compromising on aesthetics. 
• Research materials, stones, finishes, and settings to innovate and elevate product design while maintaining commercial viability.
• Maintain an organized digital archive of all design files, revisions, renderings, and approved final outputs. 
• Stay updated on design trends, emerging techniques, and cultural influences relevant to the UAE/GCC market. 
• Provide creative input on seasonal trends, material innovation, and market preferences.
• Uphold design consistency across collections while evolving the product line with new and innovative styles.

Requirements:

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

• At least 2, preferably 4+ years of experience in product design, with a portfolio demonstrating both creativity and commercial understanding.
• Extensive experience with Adobe Suite, and other software’s (CAD design, and rendering skills using tools such as Rhino, Matrix, or similar software’s).
• A keen sense of aesthetics, form, and proportion, with an eye for detail and refinement.
• Ideally a diploma or degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• Awareness of regional tastes and cultural influences, especially within the GCC market.
• Outstanding communication skills in English (verbal & written); Arabic is a considerable advantage.
