Hiring: Software Engineer – Android OS (Remote UK | Contract | Meta – Reality Labs)
We are looking for 2 Software Engineers to join Meta’s Reality Labs team, working on the Android OS powering Meta’s AR/VR hardware.
Role Overview:
You will:
- Work on Android OS internals, frameworks, debugging & performance.
- Merge Google AOSP updates with Meta’s OS.
- Build tools for system architecture & performance.
- Collaborate with teams in the UK & Zurich.
What We Want:
✔ 6+ years coding (Java/C++/Kotlin)
✔ 3+ years working on OS/AOSP/NDK/Device-level software
✔ Embedded systems experience (chip/firmware)
✔ Deep understanding of OS architecture
Amazing to Have:
- AOSP / Android internals / Custom ROMs experience
- VR headset or hardware experience
- Performance/security tooling experience
