Senior Backend Developer (with AWS)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer with expertise in AWS to become a vital part of our team.

In this role, you will build, optimize, and maintain dependable backend systems for scalable, high-performance applications. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will provide robust solutions using modern cloud technologies. Responsibilities

• Develop scalable backend systems with Java and Spring Boot as core technologies
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven applications utilizing AWS Lambda and serverless tools
• Set up and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform for AWS
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, deployment tasks, and operational workflows by applying Docker, GitHub Actions, and AWS Elastic Beanstalk
• Create automated testing frameworks for backend systems using tools such as JUnit, Cucumber, or Selenium
• Monitor and improve production services, ensuring stability and high performance with tools like Datadog, Splunk, or New Relic
• Lead the backend service lifecycle, from development and deployment to ongoing monitoring and optimization
• Work closely with product, DevOps, and frontend teams to deliver cohesive and integrated solutions
• Review code, develop technical documentation, and provide input for critical technical decisions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in backend development with Java or similar languages in a professional setting
• Expertise in Java (Spring Boot) and familiarity with technologies such as Node.js or Python
• Practical understanding of Terraform for automating and managing cloud infrastructure in AWS environments
• Proficiency in using Docker and CI/CD tools to support cloud-native application deployment processes
• Familiarity with performance monitoring tools like Datadog, Splunk, or New Relic to maintain system health
• Skills in designing automated testing frameworks to ensure reliability of backend services
• Understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven system designs
• Background in managing backend services and maintaining performance for live platforms
• Competency in advanced diagnostic and problem-solving techniques to address system issues
• Excellent English proficiency (B2 level or above) and strong communication capabilities for technical collaboration

Nice to have

• Background in other programming languages, such as Ruby or Rust, and experience integrating with older systems like AS400
• Knowledge of frontend tools, including React or TypeScript, to support cross-functional projects
• Proficiency in build and configuration systems like Maven or Projen for managing workflows
• Skills in preparing clear technical documentation and facilitating onboarding efforts to enhance team dynamics
