We are now looking for a Web Full-Stack Developer to our agile development team in Sandvik Digital Services unit to support the growing demand for remote monitoring and analytics services. The preferable location is Tampere, Finland, and we work in a flexible hybrid model.

Your role

You will work in our agile SW team together with Software Developers, Data Scientist, Data Engineers and Remote Monitoring Specialists to define and implement Sandvik cloud based remote monitoring service. Our Web services include predictive maintenance algorithms, monitoring software tools and other digitalization products which will make mining more sustainable and safer.

The role is within the Global Digital Service team which improves and creates not only new tools but, defines best practices and ways of working to deliver more value to customer through digitalization.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Implementing new features that require changes to frontend applications, backend servers, and/or databases, even on infrastructure.
• Other software development-related tasks, such as debugging, designing, and participating in creating the architecture.
• Make informed design and architecture decisions, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Lead the technical evolution of our systems to support rapid scaling and enhanced AI capabilities
• Use data to define metrics that provide visibility into product stability
• Design and implement solutions to ensure higher degree of automation and system integrations to customer and Sandvik systems.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced developers — reviewing code, sharing knowledge, and supporting their growth.

Cross-functional Impact:

• Work closely with product managers to shape technical strategy and execution.
• Partner with data scientists to implement and optimize AI/ML models.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with global data regulations.
• Guide technical decisions across multiple teams and workstreams.

Technologies we use:

We utilize modern Web technologies, React framework, Nodejs, Typescript, Databases like CosmosDB, and Databricks in Azure Cloud Service. Our CI/CD pipeline is in Azure DevOps.

Your background

You have a suitable technical educational background, e.g. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in software engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant software development experience. You are a seasoned developer and have advanced knowledge of cloud services, modern SW engineering, and CI/CD pipelines.

Experience in AI technologies or IoT Edge development is a distinct advantage. You have the curiosity to explore new ideas and develop them into robust solutions in collaboration with internal and external customers. In this role you need to have Finnish language skills, and as the organization is a global player, you naturally need well-developed English skills on top.
