About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Data Protection Officer to help us strengthen and maintain a compliant data protection culture across our organisation. This is a key role with real impact: you’ll be the central point of expertise on GDPR and privacy matters, guiding teams, advising senior management, and making sure we meet our regulatory obligations across all related legal entities. The DPO will work independently and have direct access to senior leadership. You’ll be involved early in projects, help shape data protection practices, and act as the link between our business, data subjects, and supervisory authorities.

Key Responsibilities

Data Protection Governance

  • Lead the ongoing development of our data protection policies, standards, and processes.
  • Ensure our activities comply with GDPR, Member State laws, and other relevant privacy regulations.
  • Provide clear and practical advice to senior management and business teams.

Compliance Monitoring

  • Oversee internal compliance with GDPR and our own privacy policies through regular reviews and audits.
  • Support teams with responsibilities linked to personal data handling and help embed privacy-by-design into new initiatives.
  • Guide and review Data Protection Impact Assessments.

Regulatory and Supervisory Interaction

  • Act as our main contact point for data protection authorities.
  • Manage regulatory inquiries, consultations, and inspections, ensuring responses are complete and consistent.

Data Subject Rights and Communication

  • Be the designated contact for data subjects.
  • Oversee and support the handling of rights requests and ensure processes are followed properly and on time.

Training and Awareness

  • Promote awareness of data protection obligations across the organisation.
  • Deliver or coordinate training sessions to make sure teams understand their responsibilities.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain required GDPR documentation, including processing records and relevant privacy logs.
  • Prepare regular updates for senior management on compliance status, issues, and improvements.

Support Breach Response

  • Coordinate investigations of personal data breaches.

Independence of the Role

  • Carry out your DPO duties independently and without conflict of interest, as required under GDPR.
  • Ensure any additional internal responsibilities do not interfere with your DPO mandate.

Responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Privacy, Information Security, Compliance, or a related field.
  • Recognised privacy certifications (such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or similar) are a strong plus.
  • Ideally 2+ years of experience in data protection or a related compliance field.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Solid understanding of GDPR and practical experience implementing or overseeing privacy frameworks.
  • Experience working with regulators or advising senior stakeholders is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate legal or regulatory requirements into workable, business-friendly guidance.
  • High integrity and sound judgment, with the ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
