We are recruiting for the following position: Backend .Net Developer - Remote


Technical Expertise

· Minimum 5+ years of professional .NET development experience

· Strong .NET backend expertise:

o .NET version 8

o Expert-level C# programming with solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns

o Extensive experience building RESTful APIs with ASP.NET Core Web API

o Proficiency with Entity Framework Core and data modeling

o Experience with both Relational and Non-Relational databases

· Architecture & Integration:

o Strong understanding of microservices patterns and distributed systems

o Experience with API integration patterns and event-driven architectures

o Familiarity with authentication/authorization (OAuth 2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect)

Professional Skills

· Excellent English proficiency (spoken and written) - this is essential for all code, documentation, and team communication

· Self-directed and autonomous: Ability to work independently, define your own plan of approach, and drive implementation without rigid documentation or strict Scrum processes

· Technical maturity: Capable of communicating technical approach suggestions and taking ownership of deliverables

· Collaborative mindset: Close collaboration with other developer for seamless platform integration

· Agile development experience in a developer role

Availability

· Immediate availability from February 2nd, 2025

· Full-time commitment (40 hours/week)

· Flexibility for (very) occasional travel to Lisbon for face-to-face team meetings


Highly Valued (Strong Differentiators)

Educational Technology Experience

· LTI 1.3 (Learning Tools Interoperability) implementation experience: Proven track record of implementing LTI 1.3 standard in educational applications - this gives candidates a significant advantage

· Knowledge of educational domain standards:

o OneRoster API

o LMS (Learning Management System) integrations

· Understanding of educational workflows, user roles (students, teachers, administrators), and learning platform ecosystems

Front-end knowledge and skills

· React fundamentals: Ability to collaborate with frontend developers and independently handle small UI adjustments or component development/modifications

o React with react hooks (v 17+);

o Redux (or MOBx) and Redux toolkit (or TanStackquery);

o Material UI v4 to v6;

o Typescript;

o React-router;

Additional Technical Skills

· Experience with message queuing (RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus)

· Azure Cloud Platform: Understanding of Azure DevOps, App Services, Functions, Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs or similar

· Container orchestration (Docker)

· Performance optimization and scalability patterns

· Experience with .NET Orleans

· Linux
