Avid Technology is looking for a Backend Developer to join our Technology team. This role is based in Bergen, Norway on a Hybrid (3 days onsite/week) work setup.

About the Role:

You will be focused on the development of software and solutions for our backend infrastructure, including both the creation of new services and the maintenance of existing solutions and provide continuous process improvements. We follow a scrum-based agile process, with two-week sprints. Engineers are also responsible for refining business requirements into well-defined development tasks.

Tech Stack:

We work with mobile, web, and back-end services, with a focus on modern user interfaces. Our core stack is Angular on web, Ionic on mobile, and .NET on back-end.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):


  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for our broadcasting and livestream products across web and mobile platforms.
  • Build new services and enhance existing backend infrastructure with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability using .NET, C#, and AWS.
  • Collaborate in a Scrum-based agile environment to refine business requirements into actionable development tasks during two-week sprints.
  • Support and maintain systems, ensuring uptime and stability, while driving continuous improvements in development processes and infrastructure.
  • Work cross-functionally with front-end, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure smooth integration, deployment (CI/CD), and monitoring of backend services.


Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other related field.
  • At least 3 years of related experience in Software Development and application architecture.


Preferred Skills, Experience, Capabilities:


  • Strong C# developer with a solid foundation in scalable application architecture and at least 5 years of professional experience.
  • Hands-on experience in the .NET ecosystem, including SQL Server, Elasticsearch, Entity Framework, Web API, and Dependency Injection.
  • Proven experience designing and supporting cloud-based backend solutions, preferably on AWS.
  • Proficient with Git for version control and collaborative development workflows.
  • English communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across diverse teams and global stakeholders.
