VMware Administrator

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Install, configure, and administer VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter servers, and related components.

Manage VM provisioning, resource allocation, and lifecycle administration.

Monitor and optimize performance of virtual machines, clusters, and storage systems.

Perform patching, upgrades, and security hardening of VMware infrastructure.

Deploy, manage, and support VMware Horizon or other VDI solutions.

Support end-user experience within VDI environments, including profile management and policies.

Manage user profiles, permission groups, and roles to ensure secure and efficient access to virtual desktops.

Conduct regular system updates, apply patches, and administer software upgrades.

Monitor and maintain performance, security, and reliability of virtual desktop systems.

Monitor infrastructure for any issues and optimize for best performance

Plan for disaster recovery and backup strategies within the VDI environment.

Implement and enforce system security measures and compliance policies.

Integrate VMware environment with storage arrays, SAN/NAS, and networking infrastructure.

Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, and configuration standards.

Ensure compliance with IT governance, cybersecurity, and audit requirements.

Support capacity planning, system scaling, and infrastructure modernization projects.

Collaborate with IT support, security, and application teams to ensure smooth operations.

Support hybrid cloud integration between VMware and Azure (VMware Cloud on Azure, Azure Migrate).

Plan and configure virtual networking, vStandard and vDistributed switches, and polices.

Plan and configure vSphere Storage vSphere utilizing VMFS and NFS datastores.

Create, deploy and administer Virtual Machines, vCloud vApps, and vCenter vApps. Managing virtual machine clones and templates.

Create HA / Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) virtual machine entitlement, resource pools, and migration (Storage vMotion).

Manage VSphere through VSphere operations manager

Plan and build Disaster recovery site with VMware solutions

Experience working on Server hardware like HP, IBM,Cisco

Architect solutions utilizing VMware vSphere, vCloud and Horizon view.

Define requirements for vSphere, vCenter, database, client/web applications, and Single Sign-on.

Map vCloud and vCenter resources.

Plan, install, configure, secure, and administer both vSphere vCloud and View Horizon technologies.

Architect solutions utilizing VMware vSphere, vCloud and Horizon view.

Define requirements for vSphere, vCenter, database, client/web applications, and Single Sign-on.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in computer science.

Experience: 10 years and more
