We are seeking a skilled and experienced E-commerce Web Developer to manage the full technical lifecycle of our digital storefront, from initial architecture and development to ongoing maintenance and feature implementation. This role is crucial for ensuring the website is built robustly, scalable for future growth, and integrates seamlessly with our core business systems.

You will be responsible for translating business requirements into technical solutions, writing clean code, and ensuring the highest standards of performance and security.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Architecture

• Platform Customization: Design, develop, and modify themes, templates, and complex functionalities within our chosen platform (e.g., Shopify Liquid, Magento).
• Back-End Programming: Write and maintain server-side logic and core platform functionalities, focusing on the processing of orders, user accounts, and inventory synchronization.
• Database Management: Maintain and optimize the site's underlying database structure to ensure rapid data retrieval and reliable transaction processing.
• API Integration: Develop and manage critical integrations between the e-commerce site and third-party services, including ERP/Inventory systems, Payment Gateways, and fulfillment providers.

Performance & Maintenance (The IT Focus)

• Scalability & Performance: Optimize website code, server configuration, and database queries to ensure fast loading times and stability under high traffic loads (especially during peak seasons).
• Security: Implement and enforce robust security protocols, manage SSL certificates, and regularly audit code and infrastructure to protect customer data and prevent breaches.

Collaboration & QA

• Requirement Translation: Work closely with marketing and operations teams to understand new feature requests and translate them into well-defined technical specifications.
• Quality Assurance (QA): Perform unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing across different devices and browsers to ensure feature stability and compatibility before launch.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in full-stack or back-end development for e-commerce websites.
• Deep expertise in the core technology stack of our platform:
• If using Shopify: Expert proficiency in Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and experience with Shopify APIs and custom app development.
• If using Magento: Expert proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and Magento 2 architecture.
• Strong understanding of Relational Databases (SQL) and complex data modeling.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of web security best practices (OWASP Top 10) and performance optimization techniques.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating previous work on complex e-commerce projects.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js).
• Familiarity with CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) pipelines.
