Canatu is pioneering the next technological era with advanced carbon nanomaterials. As part of Business Finland’s Veturi initiative, our Carbon Age program accelerates the transition from the Silicon Age to the Carbon Age, enabling breakthroughs in semiconductors, mobility, health, and emerging frontiers like quantum computing. This five-year program, backed by €10M in funding and a growing ecosystem of over 40 partners, is central to our strategy for transformative growth.
We are looking for a Project Manager to lead strategic projects in New Business Development (NBD) team, with a special focus on the Carbon Age Veturi program. In this role you turn visionary concepts into concrete project execution and deliver results in a project consortium setting across multiple companies.
You will work in the NBD team, and collaborate internally with business and technical experts, as well as external ecosystem partners. This role will also contribute to building project competence corporate wide.
Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Take full ownership of execution and alignment to ensure our projects advance in a timely manner and meet strategic goals. Leading projects that range from few weeks proof-of-concepts to multi-year ecosystem consortium projects.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a primary liaison between internal teams and ecosystem partners, fostering collaboration and transparency.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with R&D, engineering and business development to integrate technical and commercial priorities.
- Project Management: Oversee budgets, resources, timelines and manage risks to ensure successful project delivery.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in project management within technology-driven environments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple stakeholders, complex projects and engage in in-depth technical discussions with Ph.D-level experts.
- Familiarity with innovation ecosystems and consortium projects.
- Experience from applying for public grants and managing publicly funded projects is a plus.
- Experience in semiconductors or advanced materials is a plus.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Business, or related field.
- Fluent in English; Finnish is an advantage.
