A well-established scientific instrumentation manufacturer is expanding its software division and is seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer to strengthen its R&D team. The company develops advanced laboratory measurement systems used across research, industry, and quality-driven environments. This role sits at the centre of their next generation of digital products and will suit someone who wants to influence software quality in complex technical workflows.
Software Test Engineer role:
• Build and maintain test environments to support reliable execution of software tests.
• Plan, design, and run manual and automated tests, including unit-level and white-box testing, to validate system performance and usability.
• Investigate defects, support debugging, and contribute to continuous software improvement.
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks to increase efficiency across development cycles.
• Work closely with software development and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure strong test coverage and robust user experience.
Software Test Engineer requirements:
• Degree in computer science, software engineering, or similar technical discipline.
• Strong grounding in software development principles and structured software testing.
• Proficient in C# and C++, with additional capability in Python for test development.
• Skilled in analysing technical requirements and translating them into practical testing workflows.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining test environments and automated test suites.
• Comfortable working collaboratively within agile teams; takes ownership and communicates clearly in both German and English.
