2D Animator - Game Development

Hacksaw Studios is a Stockholm-based game studio focused on creating innovative, high-quality gaming experiences. With a focus on performance and precision, we bring ideas to life through technical expertise and creative collaboration. We have wide distribution, and our games are played by millions of people every month by players all over the world.

We are currently seeking to expand our creative team with additional 2D animators and are looking for both junior and senior candidates. You’ll be part of our creative game team, working closely with artists, designers, and developers.

The Role

As an Animator at Hacksaw Studios, you’ll play a key role in bringing our games to life through animation and visual effects. You’ll work closely with artists, developers, and project managers to create smooth animations that elevate the player experience.

Your Key Responsibilities Include

• Create animations and visual effects.
• Learn about the online gaming industry and stay up to date on current trends and what is popular with players.
• Co-operate with colleagues with similar roles, both in-house and with our partners.
• Participate in game progress reviews and give feedback about the implementation process.
• Create reference material that front-end developers can use as a goal when implementing your designs.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

You Bring

• A strong portfolio showcasing your animation work (required).
• Solid knowledge of Spine or similar 2D animation tools.
• Experience with Adobe Suite.
• Familiarity with After Effects or similar tools.
  
  

Nice-to-have

• Experience working in cross-disciplinary teams with artists and developers.
• Understanding of art workflows in game development.
