Backend Engineer (Remote)

We are hiring experienced Backend Engineers to support the development of scalable systems powering next-generation AI applications. This project involves practical, production-oriented engineering work — including API development, database design, systems integration, and environment configuration — all contributing directly to AI-enabled product capabilities.

Role Overview

As a Backend Engineer, you will design and implement systems that operate reliably at scale, collaborating asynchronously with a technical team focused on delivering high-performance infrastructure for AI-driven workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Build scalable service layers and APIs for AI-integrated applications
• Design, implement, and maintain structured database schemas
• Develop, test, and deploy backend systems and integrations
• Diagnose and resolve performance, reliability, and operational issues
• Collaborate in an asynchronous engineering environment

Required Experience

(Skills-based evaluation — no pedigree requirements)

• Strong proficiency in backend engineering and API development
• Strong SQL capability and experience with data modeling
• Demonstrated experience leading technical features or project components
• Familiarity with coding agents as part of the engineering workflow
• Excellent problem-solving skills and clear technical communication

Contract Details

• Remote, hourly contractor role
• Compensation: $85/hour USD
• Work authorization required in the applicant’s country of residence
• Task load: approximately a 24-hour project window expected within the next 1–2 weeks
• Weekly payments processed via Stripe Connect
• Earnings based on hours worked; no guaranteed minimum or maximum task volume
