Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Administrator with a strong background in managing large-scale, multi-site network infrastructures, preferably in the retail sector. The ideal candidate will have experience with Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiManager), Cisco Nexus switching, VXLAN, NSX-T, and cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure. This role involves maintaining, securing, and optimizing our hybrid network environment, supporting both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, and participating in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule.

Key Accountabilities

Network Infrastructure Management

  • Configure, monitor, and maintain FortiGate firewalls and FortiManager.
  • Perform firmware upgrades across Cisco and Fortinet devices.
  • Administer Cisco Nexus switches, routers, and wireless controllers (AirOS/IOS-XE).
  • Implement and manage VXLAN overlays for network segmentation and virtualization.
  • Support Cisco ISE for identity-based network access control (Radius/TACACS).
  • Manage and troubleshoot NSX-T environments for network virtualization and microsegmentation.
  • Manage and optimize network connectivity in GCP and Azure environments.

Automation & Monitoring

  • Develop and maintain Python scripts for network automation and operational efficiency.
  • Implement proactive monitoring and alerting using SolarWinds and other tools.

Troubleshooting & Support

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Perform root cause analysis of network incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Support end-users and internal teams with network-related queries and issues. Handle L3 support tickets escalated from technician (L2) and call center (L1).
  • Document and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Knowledge Base (KB) articles.

On-Call Rotation

  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24/7 support for critical network issues.
  • Respond promptly to critical incidents, coordinate resolution efforts and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders during on-call periods.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and change logs.
  • Generate performance and incident reports for internal stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance network performance, security, and scalability.

Job Requirements

  • Degree or certificate in Information Technology, Network, or related field;
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in network operations and administration;
  • Certifications such as Fortinet NSE, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, VMware NSX-T, or relevant cloud certifications (GCP, Azure) are highly desirable;
  • Proficiency in managing Fortigate firewalls and Fortimanager;
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Nexus switches and other Cisco networking devices;
  • Experience with VXLAN implementation and management;
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills in a complex network environment;
  • Knowledge in Python scripting for network automation;
  • Knowledge with SolarWinds for network monitoring and management;
  • Knowledge of managing and optimizing networks in GCP and Azure environments;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; and
  • Calm and effective under pressure, especially during incident response.
