An Accounts Payable Manager role is available for this world leading Law firm who has developed an enviable reputation for advising world-leading corporate and financial institutions across some of the world's leading companies and financial institutions including a significant number listed on the Fortune 100, FTSE 100 and DAX. Covering a broad range of practices including Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Intellectual Property, Joint Ventures & Strategic Alliances, Mergers & Acquisitions and Real Estate, the business operates across Asia, the Americas and Europe.
This is a senior opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager who thrives in large, complex, multi-jurisdictional environments. You will shape AP operations, lead a high-performing team, and influence continuous improvement across systems, controls and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Manager
- Oversees end-to-end AP operations - Leads the full cycle of global cash disbursements, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and rigorous financial controls across all workflows.
- Leads and develops the AP team - Provides day-to-day leadership, coaching and mentoring, fostering a collaborative, inclusive and high-performance culture.
- Drives operational excellence - Enhances processes through technology, data-led decision making and industry-best practice; continuously assesses and improves controls, automation and workflow efficiency.
- Builds strong stakeholder relationships - Acts as the primary point of contact for internal teams, external vendors and the Firm’s third-party service centre, ensuring responsive support and a high-quality service experience.
- Champions accuracy, compliance and governance - Ensures pristine record-keeping, robust audit readiness, timely payments, and full adherence to Firm policies, AP standards and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Attributes of the Accounts Payable Manager
- Proven AP leadership in complex environments - Demonstrable experience managing an AP function within a large, global or matrixed organisation; professional services experience advantageous.
- Deep technical AP expertise - Strong understanding of AP operations, financial controls, disbursement processes and workflow automation systems such as Chrome River, Concur or Coupa.
- Data-driven approach - Comfortable working with metrics, KPIs and system-generated insights to measure performance, identify risks and guide improvements.
- Advanced systems and Excel capability - Strong technology proficiency with the ability to maximise the use of financial systems and enhance reporting or automation opportunities.
- Collaborative, credible leadership style - Builds trust quickly, influences confidently, and consistently upholds high service standards and attention to detail.
