Job Purpose
The Product Development Manager is responsible for transforming scrap and surplus materials into innovative, value-added products that support OneSupply’s mission of resource recovery, waste-to-value creation, and circular economy growth. The role focuses on finding ideas, testing them, and turning them into real products that OneSupply can sell.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
The Product Development Manager plays a critical role responsible for maximizing the value of the OneSupply scrap and surplus inventory.
- Develop new products from scrap and surplus materials by finding ideas, studying material reuse, and ensuring safe and effective designs.
- Lead the full product development process from concept and prototyping to testing and final delivery working closely with engineers and operations teams.
- Conduct technical and commercial assessments to determine if transforming surplus assets is feasible.
- Work closely with the Quality Inspection team to establish the final quality standards and specifications for all refurbished products to ensure they meet required industry certifications.
- Study customer needs and market demand to understand what products can succeed.
- Identify target industries and build basic business cases showing cost, potential sales, and profit.
- Identify new product opportunities by regularly reviewing scrap and surplus materials.
- Suggest improvements to boost efficiency and increase the value recovered from materials.
- Work with internal teams across Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, and HSE to align product objectives.
- Support customer engagement, product demonstrations, and technical presentations.
- Continuously review materials flow, scrap categories, and surplus inventories to identify new product opportunities.
- Propose process improvements to increase efficiency, recover more value, and scale product commercialization.
- Collaborate with external partners, fabricators, universities, and suppliers to explore innovation opportunities.
- Monitor product performance after launch and recommend improvements based on customer feedback and operational results.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design or similar
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience, combining roles in product engineering and business development in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Deep understanding of Oil and Gas engineering equipment, materials, and asset life cycles.
