In Swedbank you have the opportunity to:

  • Join a growing ESG Risk Team within Baltic Banking Risk organization that is responsible for identification, measurement, assessment, and control of ESG related risks in Swedbank
  • Directly contribute to the development of methodologies, establishment of new processes and building data models. As a new area in the financial industry, your work will have an impact on building sustainability conscious risk practices
  • Use your expertise in quantifying physical climate and environmental risks to real estate, customers’, or the Bank’s own business operations in light of the impact of climate change
  • Contribute to the development of risk mitigation measures to meet the Bank’s sustainability targets and regulatory requirements
  • Support the variety of ESG risk area activities within the team, for example ESG Risk materiality assessment, Climate risk reporting and stress testing or other analyses
  • Support the preparation of status reports for C-level management bodies and participate in the Management forums
  • Participate in the dialogues with regulators and follow up on the current or upcoming regulatory requirements


What is needed in this role:

  • University degree in the field of Environmental Engineering, Natural Sciences, Mathematics & Modelling, or similar
  • Strong experience (at least 5 years) in Climate & Environmental data science area, modelling and/or analysis
  • Programming and data management skills (GIS, Python, SPSS or SAS, or similar)
  • Analytical mind, project management skills and a team player mindset
  • Proactive attitude and ability to learn fast and work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment and deliver quality results
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communications, good presenting skills (complex matter explained simple); proficiency in Microsoft 365
  • Proficiency in English language and of one of the Baltic languages (both written and spoken)
  • Preferably also competence in EU's Sustainable Finance landscape (ECB Supervisory expectations, EBA Guidelines, EU Taxonomy, Pillar 3, TCFD, TNFD, CSRD, etc.)
