As the IT of the REWE Group Austria, we work together with our more than 700 employees to develop innovative IT products and services for all our corporate divisions in Austria and abroad, setting the tone for modern trade.
- Maintaining and further improving an internal developer platform (IDP)
- Active participation in meetings, and fostering of cross-team collaboration where necessary to address business goals
- Teaching peers how to set up systems and drive execution plans for features and system improvements
- Coordinating efforts across the team rather than working in a silo
- Proactively communicating issues and addressing necessary trade-offs - taking ownership of issues
- Managing larger refactors, and/or system upgrades, helping others to do the same or participate. Being able to estimate scope of work, and when those estimates are off, coordinating with stakeholders like Product Management to address risks, and take ownership
- Mentoring and actively driving the technical skills of the immediate or extended team
- Anticipating issues or implications that their ideas would have on others, and pursuing mutually beneficial strategies.
- Beyond participating in meetings, thoughtfully creating and leading meetings where helpful
- Critically reviewing multiple plans and adjusting as needed
- At least 8 years of professional experience as a Software, Site Reliability, Platform or DevOps Engineer
- Expert in the automatic generation of infrastructure
- Deep industry knowledge and awareness of the technical landscape and the ability to incorporate analysis as appropriate into strategy
- Extensive expertise with Kubernetes, cloud native solutions, GitOps and CICD topics
- You should be able to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely
- Ability to set clear and challenging goals for a portfolio of work, and pursue them with enthusiasm and passion
- Good understanding of business objectives and incorporation of these into the body of work
