Right now, we're building our high-seniority in-house product and engineering team in Helsinki. We need senior engineers who can own complex problems, work autonomously, and help us scale with quality and speed as we evolve our platform for international growth.

You'll collaborate with an experienced product design team, help build the core Helsinki-based team that will drive the next phase of growth, and work directly with our CEO Janne.

Role details
This isn't a role where you'll be handed pixel-perfect specs and asked to implement them. We're evolving our entire platform – both the consumer-facing apps and the business engine that powers them – to support international scale. You'll work end-to-end, from UI to cloud infrastructure.
On The Frontend
You'll translate product and design visions into elegant, performant, accessible interfaces. Think conversational AI experiences, complex data visualizations, real-time dashboards. You'll build reusable component libraries, improve build tooling, and shape the design system. The goal is to make our business platform feel as intuitive as consumer products.
On The Backend
You'll architect and build scalable, resilient cloud services (serverless, containerized). Define data models and APIs. Implement robust auth, observability, and CI/CD. Handle massive data loads – we're processing hundreds of millions of events per month from thousands of customers. This goes beyond basic database operations: you'll work with real-time event streaming, distributed systems, and performance optimization at scale.
Beyond The Code
You'll collaborate closely with our product designers, other engineers, and stakeholders to align technical execution with business needs. You'll mentor through code reviews and pair programming. You'll champion best practices. And (critically) you'll help us catch issues before they ship, not after. We value attention to detail and proactive problem-solving.

Typical Work Might Include
- Building new features and flows from scratch for our next-generation platform
- Evolving existing features with improved UX and performance
- Creating AI-powered chat interfaces and conversational products
- Optimizing dashboard loading times so internal teams save hours
- Migrating and refactoring code into TypeScript with proper structure
- Setting up testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines as we mature our infrastructure

- Tech Lead & Senior Engineers (peer-level, no micromanagement)
- Our designers (strong product thinking, consumer-quality standards)
- Product team & customer-facing teams for deep cross-functional collaboration

Benefits & practical details
- Compensation: 4500–6500 €/month salary (depending on experience)
- Location: Helsinki office, as the product team is in Helsinki
- Schedule: 4-day workweek (Mon–Thu) with full 5-day salary – every weekend is a long weekend
- Onboarding: On-site during your first months to build relationships and understand the product deeply
- Hybrid option: After onboarding, 1 remote day per week if you prefer

- Requirements: Located in Finland (the capital region) with valid work permit (we don't offer relocation or visa services currently), professional proficiency in English – you'll communicate daily with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Top 5 things you'll need to succeed in this role
- Full-stack experience in scaling SaaS: You’ve shipped production-grade web apps end-to-end in startup/scale-up environments and understand how to build pragmatically under ambiguity and growth.
- Strong TypeScript/JavaScript + modern frontend skills: You’re fluent in TypeScript/JavaScript and React (or similar), with experience building intuitive, high-quality UIs, components, and interactions
- Solid backend engineering with cloud-native architectures: You can build scalable services on AWS (preferred), using serverless or containers, RESTful APIs, and databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB; distributed systems or Python experience is a plus.
- Ownership, product thinking & clear communication: You care about the “why,” collaborate smoothly across product and design, communicate clearly in English, and understand essentials like GDPR and web security.
- Startup/scale-up mindset & ability to shape how we work: You thrive in fast-moving environments where practices, architecture, and ways of working are still being defined, and you want to help build the next generation of Groweo’s products.
