Volunteer for a startup promoting social connection & environmental awareness 🌍
Ray Sea Association
We run hands-on upcycling workshops that build social connection, creativity, and environmental awareness.
Ray Sea addresses two interconnected challenges: social disconnection and environmental awareness. In today’s fast-paced world, many people feel isolated and lack spaces to connect through meaningful, creative experiences.
Our workshops use creativity as a bridge — fostering dialogue, mutual support, and collective expression. Participants co-create, share stories, and rediscover the joy of making with their hands, building confidence and emotional well-being. At the same time, we address textile waste by reusing and transforming recovered materials, raising awareness of sustainability and circular creation.
In essence, Ray Sea promotes connection — between people, and between people and their environment — through creative, conscious, and shared making.
Role (Volunteer, unpaid): Web Designer
Role Description: Ray Sea is looking for a creative UX/UI Designer who wants to do more than design interfaces — someone who wants to shape the digital voice of a social, eco-conscious, and community-driven organisation. You’ll help us build a website that reflects our values, supports our workshops, and amplifies our impact… while growing your own creative practice in a meaningful environment.
What You Will Do
- Design and maintain Ray Sea’s website to reflect its creative, social, and eco-conscious identity.
- Develop and evolve a visual identity aligned with our values of solidarity, sustainability, creativity, and community.
- Create and update key pages (About, Workshops, News, Gallery, Partnerships).
- Ensure an intuitive, inclusive, and accessible user experience across all touchpoints.
- Integrate multimedia content (photos, videos, testimonials, registration forms) to bring our activities to life.
- Optimise the website for all devices and platforms (desktop, tablet, mobile).
- Support our digital presence through SEO, newsletters, and social media integrations.
- Work closely with our communication team to promote events, collaborations, and ongoing projects.
What We Offer
Working with Ray Sea means joining a creative, warm, purpose-driven environment where your design work has a real impact on people and the planet. You will benefit from:
- A meaningful mission: your work directly supports textile sustainability, social inclusion, and creative empowerment.
- Creative freedom to shape an identity and website with a strong artistic direction — not just templates.
- The opportunity to co-create an evolving digital ecosystem, from branding to user experience.
- A collaborative, human environment that values innovation, experimentation, and personal expression.
- Experience in impact-driven design, ideal for designers who want to build a portfolio with purpose.
- Flexibility, trust, and autonomy in how you organise your workflow.
- Work with a founder who appreciates design, creativity, and authentic collaboration.
Who You Are
- Education or experience in web design, graphic design, or visual communication.
- Comfortable with Figma, Adobe XD, Canva, and CMS platforms such as Webflow, WordPress, or Wix.
- Sensitive to social impact, sustainability, and community-oriented projects.
- Creative, resourceful, and able to bring ideas to life visually.
- Comfortable working autonomously, while collaborating openly with a small, passionate team.
- Someone who wants to design with meaning, not just aesthetics.
Objective
Strengthen Ray Sea’s digital presence by designing a website that is inspiring, warm, human, and visually engaging, showcasing our workshops and mission while amplifying our social and environmental impact through creative storytelling and intentional design.
Time Commitment: Volunteer 4-6 hours per week for 3-5 months remotely.
