Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively collaborate with product, frontend, DevOps teams, and the Tech Lead on architectural design to translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable, and maintainable backend architectures that deliver tangible value.
- Drive the design and implementation of best practices for system architecture, including microservices, API design, and data modelling, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code primarily using Node.js, with a strong emphasis on maintainability and optimal performance.
- Develop and optimize high-performance, fault-tolerant, and secure backend components, including advanced database solutions, message queues, and caching systems.
- Lead the investigation and diagnosis of complex issues in production environments, implementing effective and lasting solutions to minimize downtime and improve system stability.
- Work closely with DevOps to streamline deployment pipelines, enhance monitoring, and ensure operational excellence of backend systems.
- Actively participate in and lead code reviews, pair programming, and technical discussions, mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous learning and high-quality engineering.
- 7+ years of proven experience in backend development, with a significant focus on data-intensive applications.
- Deep expertise with relational database technologies, particularly PostgreSQL, in large-scale, high-transaction environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of database scaling strategies, including sharding, partitioning, indexing, and replication.
- Exceptional proficiency in SQL and experience with complex query development, debugging, and advanced query optimization techniques for performance-critical applications.
- Hands-on experience with Node.js, AWS Stack, and designing/implementing microservices architectures.
- Strong practical experience with Containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and designing/implementing RESTful APIs.
- Experience with integrating AI/ML models or services into backend applications.
- Experience with various NoSQL databases (e.g., Document, Key-Value, Graph) and understanding their use cases for specific data challenges.
- Experience with message queues such as RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, or Kafka for building asynchronous and resilient systems.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment.
