Mood Games is a mobile gaming company driven by creativity, data, and the ambition to build hit titles for a global audience. We partner with top publishers like Lion Studios and Supersonic, and our portfolio includes successful titles such as Coin Sort, Traffic Jam Fever, and Queen Bee — together surpassing 70M+ downloads worldwide.
With our games consistently ranking in the US Top Charts and achieving significant success in Top Grossing lists, we are expanding our team to build the next generation of hybrid-casual hits.
We are looking for a Data Analyst who will act as a strategic partner for our Product and UA teams. You will turn complex datasets into clear opportunities that help us increase retention, monetization, and user engagement.
Main Responsibilities
- From Data to Strategy: Translate complex in-game data into meaningful insights. Go beyond the raw numbers to uncover root causes and provide actionable recommendations for the product team.
- A/B Test Analysis: Design, monitor, and interpret A/B tests for game features and monetization mechanics. Your analysis will guide the team in deciding which version creates the best player experience.
- Predictive Analytics: Support the team with LTV forecasting and Churn prediction efforts. Help us identify high-value users early and understand user lifecycles.
- Dashboarding & Visualization: Design and maintain intuitive dashboards (using Looker, Tableau, or similar) that give the entire company real-time visibility into product health (DAU, Retention, ARPU, ROAS).
- Deep Dives: Explore large volumes of structured and unstructured data to spot hidden patterns in player behavior and identify bottlenecks in the gameplay funnel.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as the "Voice of Data" in design meetings. Collaborate closely with Game Designers and User Acquisition (UA) managers to embed data thinking into the development cycle.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Statistical Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (CS, Engineering, Statistics, Math) or equivalent practical experience.
- Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in SQL is a must. Experience with Python (Pandas, NumPy) for deeper data manipulation is highly desired.
- Mobile Gaming KPIs: Deep understanding of mobile gaming metrics (Retention, LTV, ARPU, CPI, ROAS). You know how these metrics interact with each other.
- Visualization: Ability to build clear, reproducible dashboards (Looker, Tableau, Firebase, or custom Python/Streamlit solutions).
- Analytical Mindset: Proven success in working with large-scale datasets and identifying causal relationships.
- Communication: Excellent English skills with the ability to "tell a story" with data. You can explain complex statistical findings to the team simply and clearly.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in data analytics (Mobile Gaming experience is a massive plus).
Bonus
- Experience with predictive modeling or machine learning basics.
- Familiarity with attribution tools (Adjust, AppsFlyer) and mediation platforms (AppLovin MAX, LevelPlay).
- A genuine passion for playing and deconstructing mobile games.
- A great sense of humor and a collaborative spirit.
