  • Pay Rate: C$60.00 - C$65.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, core business hours (37.5 hours per week; 7.5 hours per day)
Job Summary:
The Scrum Master will support Agile delivery teams within a large financial services environment, ensuring Scrum practices are followed effectively while driving continuous improvement. This role focuses on facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing impediments, coaching Agile teams, and maintaining strong alignment between business partners and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities:Scrum Facilitation & Agile Delivery
  • Lead and facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives, ensuring ceremonies are productive and time-boxed.
  • Promote transparency by encouraging teams to track metrics and use data-driven insights to improve processes.
  • Shield the team from external distractions to maintain focus on sprint commitments.
Impediment & Risk Management
  • Identify, manage, and remove risks, impediments, and dependencies impacting delivery.
  • Escalate and coordinate with stakeholders or external groups when needed to resolve blockers.
Coaching & Collaboration
  • Coach and mentor teams on Agile principles, Scrum values, and self-management practices.
  • Foster collaboration and effective communication across teams and stakeholders.
  • Drive workflow improvements between teams and partners.
Program & Stakeholder Alignment
  • Lead Program Increment (PI) Planning and support quarterly planning activities.
  • Keep teams and partners aligned and on track during execution.
  • Manage alignment between business stakeholders and multiple partner groups.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Agile teams.
Required Experience:
  • 0-2 years of overall professional experience.
  • Experience supporting IT projects or software solution/development initiatives.
Required Skills:
  • Risk, impediment, and dependency management
  • Facilitation of Scrum ceremonies
  • Program Increment (PI) planning and execution
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Detail-oriented mindset
  • Coaching Agile teams
Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience:
  • Scaled Agile certification (SAFe)
  • Banking or financial institution experience
  • Release Train Engineer knowledge
  • Project management experience
Education & Certifications:
  • Post-secondary education required
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Scrum Master certification (must have)
  • Scaled Agile Practitioner certification (nice to have)
Disqualifiers:
  • Any planned time off or vacations exceeding two consecutive weeks during the engagement
